SMTP Proxy Report vs. Spam Report totals

The totals don't match when I compare these two reports.
MAIL, SMTP Proxy, server summary, COUNT
SERVICES, spam, spam level, COUNT total

The mail server summary always runs a higher total. We're running just one SMTP rule.

Any suggestions as to where the additional counts are coming from?

    Hi CraigS,

The spam totals will count anything that is caught by a rule inside of spamBlocker, including items that are set to allow, and exceptions that you've made.

    For example:
-A spamBlocker exception that is set to allow or deny a email address or domain.
-A spamBlocker action (like "Suspect" that is set to allow, or just to log, but take no other action.)
-Email items that are stopped via VOD protection.

If you're seeing these numbers diverge quite a bit, or the numbers don't quite add up, I'd suggest opening a support case so that a support representative can help dig into that issue for you.

    Thank you,
