Intel® WiFi 6 AX201 160MHz - Disconnect Issue

Resolve Wi-Fi disconnects from Watchguard AP SSID on certain notebook computers. This appears to be a known issue in the Intel community.

The following client adapter settings resolve the frequent connect/disconnect events reported in Watchguard Cloud.

802.11a/b/g Wireless Mode -- 5GHz 802.11a
802.11n/ac/ax Wireless Mode -- 802.11ax
Channel Width for 2.4GHz -- 20 MHz Only
Channel Width for 5GHz -- 20 MHz Only
Preferred Band -- Prefer 5GHz band
Roaming Aggressiveness -- lowest

Issue was 1st reported on customer Dell Latitudes after connecting to an SSID. This issue is not with Watchguard Cloud but is a larger issue involving this particular Intel chipset. Hope this is helpful to someone.

    Hi @markhudy
It's not uncommon for Intel to release driver updates - would it be possible for you to post your driver version so future folks that stumble on this can try to match it up? Thanks for posting your solution.

Driver version from a customer that used to have this issue.

    Name : Wi-Fi
    InterfaceDescription : Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160MHz
    InterfaceIndex : 18
    MacAddress : 70-CD-0D-E1-F9-15
    MediaType : Native 802.11
    PhysicalMediaType : Native 802.11
DriverInformation : Driver Date 2023-07-26 Version NDIS 6.60

Note: 802.11a/b/g Wireless Mode -- 5GHz 802.11a this setting will most likely prevent many users from connecting to older home Wi-Fi networks, so putting it back to dual-band is the resolution for that.
