AP120 & Firebox V

Guys,

We have around 15 AP120 dotted around multiple sites, each managed by its own local M series firewall, we are thinking about moving to a firebox v in a private cloud, can the AP120's still be managed by a virtual firebox, or does it have to be done via the WIFI Cloud.

Thanks

Gary

    Hi @Gazcallyt

This is do-able -- provided you have a VPN tunnel from the Firebox-V to the remote devices.

You'll have to remove the AP from management on the local firewall, then add it manually on the FireboxV (doing a Gateway Wireless Controller scan won't work across a VPN tunnel.)

Since the AP120 is a cloud management capable device, I'd suggest you instead look into managing the APs that way. Provided you have the "Secure" or "Total" WiFi APs, that'll keep everything in one place without the WiFi chunkiness.

Please note that GWC/Basic wifi is still subject to license enforcement -- make sure you're aware of this before proceeding:
