New Dimension Setup question
M500 v12.5
Need some guidance. We plan to install hyper V Dimension. I'm confused with when to use the dimension vhd.
Do we setup a new VM in hyper-v first, give memory, ethernet and hard drive space first? and when do we use the downloaded "Dimension vhd"?
Thanks!

Hi Bruce, I did read and that's where I got stuck. At what point we use the downloaded "watchguard-dimension_2_1_2_vhd" is it when you add an IDE Virtual hard Disk?
Hi @WGM
You use the VHD file in Step 5, under "Install the Dimension VM."

Got it! Thanks James!
Does anyone know how long it takes for "Watchguard Dimension Setup Wizard" to finish? It's been over 30 minutes and I still cannot login. it says "user xxxxx is setting up dimension setup wizard. Please try again later"
The bigger the disk allocation, the more time it takes.
oh it's 1TB
1TB will take some time -- it has to set up the database on that drive. I'd just let it go overnight and check again in the morning. Disk speed, memory, and CPU will all be factors that determine how long that takes.

Thanks James, it's been 4 hours. i'll let it it run overnight and check back tomorrow and give an update. Thanks!
i'm not sure if it's finished but when I try login with the new credentials, it says invalid username/password, if I use the original default login, it gives "This page isn't working, XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX didn't send any data. ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE". Is there a way to see the progress or how can we redo the wizard again?
Hello,
The size of the data disk should not influence how long the initialization wizard takes to complete. The initial database is very small and takes no time to setup.
You might be running into a known issue* where the wizard will stall out on the password step when deploying on an Intel Xeon CPU based host.

Thank you.
Ok, for those who might have a problem like me, I had to reinstall and use the lower dimension version 2.1.1 u1, instead of 2.2.1, and the dimension wizard only took 5 minutes to complete
This error has already cost me hours of work. Our server use a Intel Xeon Gold 5122 CPU and there is the same problem, that setup wizard didn´t finished. I will try to install a 2.1.1 u1.
