Bridge External Interface?

I have a client whose new broadband has been configured with two routers (primary and backup; .194 and .195). The config uses VRRP to present the default gateway as .193, and I have my WG external interface set to .196.

I was trying to bridge two WG T80 ports together as an external interface to connect one port to each router (thus saving me adding a switch between the two routers and the WG - another potential failure point).

But of course I can't make a bridge interface of type external. Is there an alternate solution here I have not thought of?

Thanks.

  • If you have a VLAN capable switch with 3 available ports, you can set the 3 ports up as an untagged VLAN for this connection.

Use a different color Ethernet cables for this connection to easily identify the WAN connections.

  • Thanks - sounds like a plan.
