Authpoint prompt for SMB Share Access
Hi WG Team,
I have come across a situation recently that I think could drive a great addition to the Authpoint product - the ability to secure an SMB share (individually or all on an designated system) with Authpoint, thereby requiring a successful MFA approval to grant access.
I understand it's probably a bit of a niche feature, but we have several customers with very specific security controls and must comply with various industry standard and government certifications/controls/compliances. It would certainly be helpful to be able to lock down access to a share with MFA.
My organization is actively pursuing similar certifications in order to grow our client base who require these controls/certifications, so having a tool like this will go a long way in our support of our existing and future clients!
Thanks!

Hi @TenderTiger,
I'd suggest opening a support case for this so that we can gather more specifics about what type of certifications are needed for these types of environments, and we can get a feature request put together for you.
Generally, we would recommend the AuthPoint Logon App which protects the machine itself, and the AD authentication that happens when the user initially signs in is what is used for file/folder access.

Hi James,
Thanks for the feedback. I have already submitted a support case to understand the options available to us with the existing version of the product.
The support team was very helpful and offered a workaround that would technically meet our requirements but introduced significant process overhead.
If there is a separate portal for submitting feature requests, I am unaware of it and would appreciate guidance on submitting an official feature request.
@TenderTiger Just ask the tech in the case for a feature request.
Doing so via cases lets us notify you about them, as well as collect information specific to your needs.
If your case already closed, just reply to it, and it'll re-open -- the tech that is assigned to that case can get that set up for you.
The project managers that oversee each product are more likely to act on a feature request via a case with lots of information over one in from the forum system (which tend to have very little.)
You can technically ask for a feature here -- but it's generally better to do so via a support case. I generally encourage anyone that make a request here to also open a support case for that reason.
