Hyper-V Dimension v2.2 Server - Out of memory

Hello all,
Our HYPER-V Dimension v2.2 Server will no long allow web logins and is not responding to IP pings.
When logging in from console I getting this error below...

"out of memory: Killed process 2820 (postgres) total-un:3672388kB, anon-rss:3484380kB, file-rss:0kB, shmem-rss:60952KB, UID:999 pgtables:7164kB oom-score_adj:0"

Is there a console command that I can run to free up some postgres memory?

Thank you,
A.B. Cole

    Hi @ABCole
You'll need to assign more memory to your VM.

First, you'll need to shut down your VM (if you can't log into Dimension, you may have to force shut down that VM.)

Next, you'll need to open the settings for your Dimensions VM. Under memory, ensure that at least 2GB are assigned. We recommend 4GB.

  • Hi James,
Adding 4GB of RAM was the first thing I did before posting here.
Sadly that did not fix the issue.

We only use the Dimensions daily & weekly reporting...

So, after two days of looking around for an answer, I deleted both Dimension hard drives from the Hyper-V. Then download a fresh copy of Dimension 2.2.2 & recreated my data drive. The new system was up and running in less than an hour with reporting working again.

    Thank you for your response,
    A.B. Cole
