Hotplug USB modems
Do I have to reboot the Firebox when I plug in a USB modem? Seems like sometimes I do but not always. So confusing.

Hello Greg,
Yeah there is a lot of confusion regarding this out there, so lets try to clear this up a bit. Prior to firmware release 12.1.1 the firebox needed to rebooted every time a USB Modem was connected to it. This was because the USB ports on the firebox would only load the USB Modem drivers on boot.
As of 12.1.1 the firebox can use a USB modem as an interface without rebooting, most of the time. The caught is that if you disconnect and reconnect the modem ten times, you must reboot the Firebox.
