ip interfaces
Hi,
the previous internet provider provided me with a router with a 192.168.5.x/24 interface
So, I set up my two interfaces on my T20-W like this:
- the external one towards the router with 192.168.5.2 (being router 192.168.5.1) statically
- and the one towards the LAN (trusted) with 192.168.1.1/24
Now I have changed supplier which still offers me the same service, but the router has a 192.168.1.x/24 network and no longer 5.
Since my LAN lives in the 192.168.1.x network, can I still give the same subnet to the external interface?
Thank you

Not with Mixed routing mode - the default, since each routed interface (ie. external and trusted) needs to be from a different subnet.
We recommend not having your trusted network set to commonly used subnets such as 192.168.1.0/24, to prevent issues such as this.
well, thanks for the suggestion.
You could switch to Drop-in mode, which allows 192.168.1.x/24 IP addrs on both external and trusted interfaces and internal devices.
There are a number of feature restrictions/limitations when in Drop-in mode:
