Authpoint Gateway update 7.1.2-600 complete but gateway offline

After updating the Authpoint Gateway to version 7.1.2.-600 the gateway shows offline in Watchguard cloud and the watchguard gateway service won't start on our Windows machines.

The problem is the gateway.properties file in C:\Program Files (x86)\WatchGuard\AuthPoint Gateway. After updating the file is almost empty.

The solution is to restore the gateway file from the previous installed version. Just replace the new 'empty' one with the previous one. So please make a backup/copy of the complete watchguard folder before upgrading.

If you don't have a backup, you can also uninstall the authpoint gateway software, reinstall the software and register the gateway as a secundairy gateway. When the secundary gateway is online, you can make that one the primary gateway and remove the old offline gateway. Don't remove the offline gateway in the Watchguard Cloud portal.

Maybe this is usefull for some people :-)

    This certainly isn't expected behavior -- If you haven't already done so I would suggest creating a support case -- especially if you still have the logs from when the gateway was not working.

    Running the same upgrade path works in my instance, so it's likely there's something else triggering the issue -- the logs may be able to help determine what that is.
