HW crypto chip is NOT present
Hello All
I've been trying to find any information on the diagnostic log entry thats being recieved by our dimension server daily from one of our fireboxes: FW Status HW crypto chip is NOT present. Its a T55 Firebox running 12.6.4. The Status report in the system manager reports no issues, anyone got an idea what this is refering to?
I was basically not able to find any information regarding what the crypto hardware component actually is, my best guess is that its refering to the TPM Module that is builtin into newer Firebox models (including the T55)
Thank you in advance

The crypto chip is mentioned here:

Hi @Moritz
The crypto chip is a hardware crypto accelerator It's not present in all devices (notably the XTMv, FireboxV, T70, and some other small devices. It's used to speed up cryptographic functions on IPSec (IKE) VPN tunnels.
If the crypto chip isn't there the system just does IPSec crypto tasks on the system CPU.
If you're using any Branch Office VPNs, or IPSEC mobile VPNs, I'd suggest opening a support case. One of our team members can help run diagnostics and if it's in fact failed, issue an RMA for the device.
