Older authentication clients

Hi,

Have an M400 which we just upgraded to 12.7.1. Noticed that the Watchguard authentication client also gets an updated installer. Quick audit of our systems and it looks like we have never updated the client when we have updated the m400 in the past - not sure why. Our client version is 11.12.2 all running Windows 10 or Mac. The release notes don't specifically mention updates to the client software (in terms of bugs/fixes etc).

Q: Should we upgrade the client version at the same time as upgrading the appliance?

Q: How does running an older version of the client affect our overall setup?
