Live Security for an ancient XTM 25

An infrequent client has an XTM 25 running Fireware 11.7.3 and he inquired about Live Security. I thought the box HAD to be EOL by now, but to my surprise, it is still good until 01 Jul 2021.

So, my question is, if he buys LS for a year, can he simply add the new feature key and then upgrade to Fireware v12.1.3 Update 3 (for XTM appliances), or does he need some interim license, reactivation, or ???

He buys his own old boxes and has me do an occasional tweak to his configs.

    Hi Gregg,

    Support is backdated to the date of when support ended, or 6 months, whichever is shorter. Based on what you're saying, you'd probably loose 6 months off of it.

    Considering that the device is going end of life soon, it may be more inexpensive/cost effective to explore a trade-up for a new device which would normally come with 1 or 3 years of support/updates.

    I have recommended a trade-up several times. I'll let him know about only getting six months if he wants to update LS.
