Hi!

Are there any plans to make Linux version of WatchGuard System Manager?

    Hi @bbahes

As of now, there is no plan to make WSM for any new platforms. A large amount of effort has/is going into Dimension and cloud management, which is by nature cross-platform.

Is there anything that you're looking to do inside WSM that you're unable to do via the firewall's WebUI?

    Thank you,

Offline config editing, but move from Windows to Linux.

    Hi @bbahes

For offline config editing, you'll need to use policy manager. You could probably achieve that via RDP to a management server (which would allow you to do templates and other advanced management features,) or via some other access to a windows machine. WSM apps can reside on any supported version of Windows, which includes the server iterations of it.

At this point in time, there are no plans to bring the WSM applications to any other platform.

    Thank you,

  • You should consider open sourcing WSM if you have no interest in Linux development. WSM is very usefull to us since we do all work in WSM for Firebox configurations. However we are locked to Windows platform.
