Has anyone ran into an e-skimmer intrusion, and is there any way to mitigate the ability of a web server to connect out through the firebox to the e-skimmer destination servers?

Depending on the threat, IPS, Botnet detection may help. It'd depend on where specifically the software is installed, and if it's detectable from the endpoint.
