Sorting IPs in policy manager

I'm looking at a rule in policy manager that has a list of unsorted IPs.

How do I sort them?

  • There is no ability to do this in Policy Manager or the Web UI.

They are in the order to which they were added.
The same is true for an Alias.

  • Not the cli either

Maybe somebody can make that a feature request?

    Hi @Steve_E
There's existing feature requests for this:
FBX-4106 - Allow IP addresses to be sorted in policies
FBX-10137 - Allow IP addresses to be sorted in Alias lists.

One of the things that may help "Control the Chaos" is to consolidate IPs into an Alias and go from there... It is traditionally better to use Aliases (Even if for one FQDN or IP Address) so that:

      1. You know what the IPs are for
      1. Scalability as you can use the Alias in multiple rules instead of a blob of IPs in multiple rules so that when you update the Alias, it will update all rules with that Alias.
  • Thanks for the idea.
