FQDN blocked site exception - not able to create

I'm not sure if this is the right category in which to post, so please direct me elsewhere if that's appropriate.

I am trying to add a new Blocked Site Exception based on the FQDN, and no matter what I try to add, I get a message that "The domain name is invalid." I'm on the current OS, 12.12.1, and I even restarted the firewall to see if that reset anything, but I'm having no luck.

I searched here and didn't see any related subjects, but perhaps I'm just bad at searching.

I am open to any and all suggestions!

  • Are you using WSM Policy Manager or the Web UI?

I have no problems doing this using WSM Policy Manager running 2026.3.0 on my T125.

What FQDN are you trying to add?

Web UI, and on an M290. I've done it numerous times before, on two different installations.

Libreoffice.org, which was being blocked due to Geolocation rules. But I can't even add my own company's site to the exception list. Nor google.com.

Something seems broken in the Web UI.

Edit: In this case I'm using the Web UI from a Mac. I also just tested a Windows guest VM and it gets the same results. I'll be in the office shortly and will try from Windows there, just in case MacOS is doing something odd.

  • Fireware v12.12.2 is just out. Try that.
  • Unfortunately no - that didn't resolve it.

And I can confirm it's behaving similarly at my office, on my Windows computer.

  • I can update via WSM, though I find the web interface far more intuitive. It has worked fine in the past…

  • should you care to, you can open a support case on this to get this bug officially reported to WG.

  • Thanks Bruce. I was a bit busy the past couple days and just noticed there's a new OS version that was released, so I tested that with similar results and submitted a ticket.

In case anyone else runs into the same problem, I'll report back once I have a useful update.
