Live monitoring via Watchguard cloud freezes Edge or other browsers
Hi,
I've been having this issue for a while, but I really didn't care much until now because we are fully migrated to the cloud.
The issue I'm encountering is that when I view the live monitor, whether in the same window or a separate one, it freezes my internet browser, and this only happens on my computer (I tried it on other laptops on the same network and had no issues).
I have even factory reset my computer, but the issue persists.
I tried reinstalling the graphics driver, disabling apps, modifying startup apps, deleting extensions, etc., but I still couldn't figure this out.
I'm hoping that someone can help me fix this.
Below is my computer spec.
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-14900 (2.00 GHz)
Installed RAM 64.0 GB (63.7 GB usable)
Edition Windows 11 Pro
Version 25H2

Hi @lee46513
I'd suggest opening a support case so we can gather more data on the issue you're experiencing. Your PC should be more than enough to run that web browser traffic monitor window. I suspect it may be trying to load a resource (or failing to load it) and getting stuck.
It may be helpful if you're able to generate a har file before it completely hangs:

I factory reset my computer again, and before I install any apps, I tested the live monitor, and it is running smoothly. I guess there were some apps that conflicted with the live monitor. I need to find out what it is now.
Hi @lee46513
The most common thing we see in browsers are extensions that attempt to manipulate text and other objects on the page (such as translation extensions.) The constant flow of data from the traffic monitor will consume lots of resources and usually cause the browser to act sluggishly or completely hang while it's running.

Okay, I think I found the app that is causing the issue. It is the Grammarly Windows app, not the extension one. As soon as I install the app, the browser becomes unresponsive when the live monitor is running. Is it something I should report to Grammarly?
Hi @lee46513
You're welcome to report that to them if you like. I'm fairly certain that they'll just tell you to disable it for that site since you wouldn't be doing much, if any, writing there.
Grammarly behaves similarly to the translation plugins that we've seen since it's trying to grab incoming data that's never going to end (since the logs won't end.)
