Invalid license key or serial number error on MacOS MVPN client

I have deactivated a Mobile VPN installation on a Windows PC and would like to re-license on a Mac. I have installed the Watchguard branded 30-day trial MVPN client on the Mac and it connects fine, but when we try and license it with the deactivated key and serial we get the following error: invalid license key or serial number (product). The version is 4.73 Build 30031

    The Mac and Windows IPSec clients are licensed separately.

    Windows IPSec licenses won't work on the Mac IPSec Client and vice-versa.

    If you'd like to use the WatchGuard branded IPSec client for Mac, you'll need to purchase a license for it.

    Unless you need specific functionality that the premium WatchGuard branded client provides, I'd suggest looking at the SSL or IKEv2 VPNs. The SSLVPN client for Mac is free, and the IKEv2 VPN uses the VPN client that is built into MacOS.
