Confused on setting up VLAN's

Hi all. Mr hopeless/new to WatchGuard here again. I'm having some trouble creating a VLAN. When I go to create it, it says I need to have a network interface associated with it. It appears I can select the main LAN interface (the only one I use), but it would require me to change its mode to VLAN - which I'm confident is not the answer. What am I missing here? I've always been able to add VLANs to the primary interfaces of firewalls. Thank you for humoring me here. One day I'll be better at this...
