Trade-up question
Hello!
I have a client who has a T50 coming up on renewal. Rather than renew, I want to replace it with a T35 because they only have a 100Mbps ISP connection, and the T35 is faster than a T50 in almost all respects (only Firewall Throughput is faster, but only marginally so). A T35 has enough ports, too.

A T50 renewal with three-year Total Security is $435 (MSRP) more than a T35 at full MSRP, so a trade-up would be even lower, if it's allowed.
One thing that I do not see listed in the comparison is how many TDR licenses come with each device and Total Security.
So:
Can I trade up from a T50 to a T35?
How many TDR licenses are included in a T35 with TS?
Thank you!
EDIT: I emailed my rep a few days ago about it and have not heard back, hence my post here.

I found this - a T35 has 20 host sensor licenses:

Bruce,
That's PERFECT! My biggest client has 16 workstations and a server.
Thank you!

Can anyone from WatchGuard answer this question: Can I trade up from a T50 to a T35?
Gregg Hill
Hi @GreggHill,
A T50 would only be eligible to trade up to a T55, T70, or M270.
You can find the current trade-up matrix here:

Certainly a non-obvious link!
You can't trade up from a T10 to a T35.. How odd???

I am asking about going from a T50 to a T35. I don't see why could not go from T10 to T35.
Gregg Hill
When you look at the list provided by James, it shows that you can't trade up a T10 to a T15...

Just because - often the reason why one can't do something that seems reasonable to do
You mentioned "You can't trade up from a T10 to a T35.. How odd??"
While odd that one cannot trade up from a T10 to a T15, it would be even more odd if one cannot go from a T10 to a T35.

Actually, I made a small mistake reading the chart.. You can go from a T10 to a T15, but not to a T35.. It is still bonkers (Australian for madness)..

Bonkers completely describes me! There is a reason that my father-in-law (lovingly) refers to me as "The Family Whack-Job!" (because I am whacko, not any perverted reading of that term).

Just to chime in on this thread even though its old, there is sometimes a promotion called Red for Red which would probably allow you to trade a WG for another, and I don't think there is a restriction on which one you go to:

CrazyCDN,
"Red for Red" is the "trade-up" program. They do have restrictions on what one can go from and to: https://p.widencdn.net/sijswa/Trade_Up_Program_Overview

At one point, there was a tradeup program from competitive products, which would include any watchguard product. It was under this program we upgraded from our xtm22w to the m200.
Regarding your "there was a tradeup program from competitive products, which would include any watchguard product" comment, that is incorrect.
These are two different programs: "Competitive Trade In" is to trade in a competitor's product to buy WatchGuard, while "Red for Red" is the trade-up from WatchGuard to WatchGuard. They have different SKUs and pricing.

Thank you for clarifying! I knew there was some sort of program but didn't remember the exact name for it.
